Hello!
I am a naturopathic physician and my name is Zora DeGrandpre. My office is located in downtown Vancouver, Washington in the historic Academy building.
My background:
I am a Naturopathic physician (ND) and have a Master's degree (MS) with a background in organic chemistry, biochemistry,drug design, lab diagnosis, immunology and cancer research. I have also taught college level chemistry, physics and biology. I have written two textbooks for students about botanical medicines and interactions with prescription medicines and am a lead author and editor for chapters on Clinical Medicine, Energy Medicine and Mind Body Medicine for an upcoming Natural Medicine textbook. I work with the National Institute of Health's National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NIH/NCCAM) and am listed as an expert witness for a nationally recognized law firm.
All these, in addition to my personal life experiences, as well as training in Reiki and Healing Light Touch, have resulted in an approach to medicine where I view myself as your partner, facilitator and educator in health—I prefer a “team approach” over an approach where I tell you what to do and hope that you do it. My approach will be to make my best suggestions based on my knowledge and experience and based on your unique situation in life. It will be up to you to implement these as YOU decide.
What is a Naturopathic Physician (ND)?
A Naturopathic physician is a family physician who attends a medical school specializing in natural medicine for 4 years. We use many different methods to address your health concerns. My approach may include adjustments to your diet or your level of fitness. I may suggest vitamins, supplements, botanical medicines, energy medicine such as Homeopathy, Reiki or Bach Flower remedies. All of these will be, literally, designed for you--for example, you may be depressed and have muscle aches--I can combine different herbs that will work together to treat both!
At times, I may prescribe, if needed, prescription medicines. I am particularly interested in reducing your need for prescription medicines, by working with you to increase your natural health and vitality.
- I can order complete lab work-ups and can also run special tests for food sensitivities/allergies, GI health panels and tests for hormone and vitamin levels.
