This is great for vitamins and minerals and is a great "pick-me-up"!
Green smoothie makes 4 servings
1.5 c water (I prefer 2 + c)
1 head of the greenest organic romaine lettuce I can find-- chopped
3 stalks organic celery
1 organic apple-- chopped
1 organic pear-- chopped
1/3 bunch of organic cilantro
1/3 bunch of organic parsley
juice of 1/2 lemon, quartered
Combine water and lettuce in blender. Start on low and mix until smooth. Gradually increase speed. Add herbs, celery, apple and pear. Add lemon last. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
